how cut through solid body paraler to x plane on different planes/faces

Hi I don't know much at all about inventor, slowly learning.

I am stuck. I have a solid body object which I need to cut at the top and bottom parallel to the x plane.

How do I do that?

Can you please show me. I have attached the file.

Thank you

The Attached is a wild guess as I really have no idea what you are after.

@Cadmanto Yeah, that is. How did you do that? I have the file open but as mentioned I have not much knowledge of Inventor.

Did you draw two rectangulars and somehow made them cut through.

Can you pleas show or explain to me.

Thank you.

Hi @JDMather Yes, the first file is what I am trying to achieve. Do I just sketch the rectangular shape on one particular plane and then use slice or cut tool? Or what is that extrusion. I will have a go but if you have time please let me know. Thank you

Did you figure it out?  Is this thread resolved?

My suggestion to you would be to go through the tutorials supplied with Inventor and also look at ones on Youtube.
