How can I simplify an inventor part - .ipt?

So, I have this part file that is ~260 MB, once I export into a STP file it becomes even larger - ~760 MB. Is there a way to simplify this part and not show inner structure but only outermost geometry? (see the 2 images below)

P.S I have a PDM Autodesk package, including Fusion, 3DSmax etc.

In general, how can I reduce the file size of a part/stp

Hi, the easiest way to do this currently is to insert the part into an assembly. You can then use the simplify command to simplify it.

Right at the bottom there is fill internal voids and remove internal parts. 
You can also remove components completely or remove certain features like holes and fillets
