hover over origin didn't highlight

Inventor 2015 - I'm going through the first sketch tutorial, the one with the parallelogram on constraining your part.

In the video step where it shows horizontally constraining the midpoint of the left line to the origin, when he hovers over the origin point it highlights red.

I can't for the life of me get the origin to highlight green or red or whatever when I hover over it.  Any ideas?  What am I missing?

That would be step 3 of the sketch tutorial that comes with the software.

Expand the Origin in the browser so that you can see the Center Point.

Right click on the Center Point and select Visibility.

Select the Project Geometry tool and then select the Center Point and hit Enter.

Now see if the Tutorial instructions work.

If the instructions now work - I can explain what happened to cause them to previously not work.

Thanks, no, it didn't work.  I see what you're saying though, the plane I was sketching in might have been in front of the origin point.  Does this highlight for everyone else?  If anyone has 2015 can it be verified to be 2015 and not just a setting?

As far as I know, everything should be default (be nice to have a reset all menus to default button)

I believe I might have found my problem.  It's an old post where your pdf link is no longer available

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-forum/select-origin/td-p/3646270

So now I recall selecting a whole section of the graph and deleting .. of course deleting the center point as well, I guess.  So I guess the origin is deleted and gone for good?  So now, how do I get the default origin back?

Aha!  I've got it.  Ok, I had to change the Color scheme.  Tools -> Application Options -> Colors ->Color scheme to something other than Winter Night.

The default setting is Winter Night, so the points are yellow and the highlight is white.  White?  Why oh why did they do that?  It's almost an imperceptible change from soft yellow to white, barely noticeable.  All of the other 8 settings has the highlight set to red.

So it actually was highlighting to white and if you didn't pay real close attention it would appear that it didn't work.  Anyways great now to know that it was just a poor choice of color schemes.
