Hose routing - derived route

Hello.

I will make it short. Is there any solution for sketching a route/spline and use the derived route function to model a hose? I am modelling large scale hoses for gas application. It seems easier to me than routing the hose directly.

Using Inventor 2025.

Thanks in advance.

Hello.  As far as I can tell this should be possible for Hose routing in Tube & Pipe.  I haven't used it much (or at all... lol)..., but I would start by creating a part in your assembly for the 3D Sketched route.  Then create a new Hose Run, new Hose Route and select Derived Route from the menu... select the sketch you created, and it "should" create the route based on the sketch.  The sketch will need to follow all of the Rules in your Hose Style, such as minimum length, bend radius etc.

Hello and thanks for reply.

That is exactly how I approached the problem, but the derived route function is greyed out when in the hose environment. I found the following from the help and frighten hose is not rigid either bended tube...

I just ran a quick test with what I suggested earlier, and you are correct.  It does not seem to work for flexible hose.  I will tag @johnsonshiue here just to verify that this is "as designed".
