Home page cleared

When I opened Inventor today, it had randomly cleared the home page of everything except the pinned files, why would it do this. The home page is set  to show on start up & has the default 100 maximum documents.

Inv2024.3.3, AutoDesk Access shows that it is up to date.

Hi Nigel, did your Project on the Home page change to a different one, which maybe has no files in it?  What you see on Home is determined by the current Project.

No, we only work with 1 Inventor project & that still shows on the home page.

This is my theory:

- An accidental click at "Remove Unpinned". No prompt is given, it just clears.

Whilst I accept that my banana-like fingers are capable of random clicks, on this occasion the home screen was clear on Inventor start up. At the previous day's shut down, I don't think I would have been anywhere near the Remove Unpinned button to click it accidentally.

No, I know in one release they changed it so it didn't show all your frame generated members cluttering up the home page, but it shouldn't clear normal files. I don't know if this is related in anyway or not.

Unfortunately, we are not aware of this behavior. Nor have we heard from other users. Are you able to reproduce it consistently?

This could be caused by one of two things.
1. in the Windows registry at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion28.0\Recent File List

2. The file homedocumentdata.json found at C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Inventor 2024

If either is corrupted or deleted it can cause the more recent files to not appear on the Home page.

No, it happened once & has not recurred. We may never know the reason.

They both appear to be intact but that's not to say that they were not at the time of the page clearing & have been rewritten since.
