Hollow shaft - Shaft component generator

Hello,

is there a way to design a hollow shaft in shaft component generator? According to the help page a bore should be added on the left most or on the right most section of the shaft. The 3D model of the shaft disappers as I set the bore's length equal to the shaft's length.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Don't use ShaftGenerator.

It's got too many tricks and caveats.

Just model the shaft manually.

That's what I've done for over a decade.

You have way more control over what happens to the shaft when the rest of the model changes (re: parameric auto-update length, keyway positions, journal diameters, etc.).

I'm not sure, but perhaps it's not possible to create the hollow with the shaft creator tool.

Anyway, After you create the shaft, the end result is still an inventor part.

Finish the shaft tool and Create a normal extrude to hollow the shaft.
