How do I dimension holes in assemblies? I place the hole using the hole feature but when I go to dimension the position of the hole (x/y dimension etc.), I can select the center of the hole but I am unable to select any edges or other features in the assembly.

What version of Inventor are you using?  I'm on 2020.3 and am able to select edges when dimensioning a hole using the assembly feature.

Can you post a screenshot of what you're seeing?

Are these holes applied at the assembly level (assembly level features) or are these applied at the part level while editing the part in the context of an assembly?

I'm using version 2020.2.1 on a student license. I probably need to update. I'll see if I can get a screen shot to send you.

I was working on a frame assembly made of steel angle and needed to place holes on one of the angle faces. After playing around I discovered I could open the individual angle parts and add the holes there. But I was unable to do it in the assembly level.

Hi! This can be done in two ways. When you edit the hole, the panel shows a link to the sketch. Click on it, you will be able to edit the sketch within the Hole command. The other way is to edit the sketch without editing the hole. You will need to project the edges of interest to the sketch.

Many thanks!
