Hole Pattern Problem

I created a counterbore hole on an angled surface using the Hole Feature.  I used "Through All" for my Termination

I patterned this counterbore hole along the angled surface.  The patterned hole was not a thru hole?

Am I missing a setting?

(If create the upper hole first, and pattern in the opposire direction, both holes are thru)

Thanks,

Todd

Hi ToddPig,

I think what you want to do is edit your pattern and use the >> button to expand the More Options, and then look for the Adjust option. I'm going form memory, but will check in just a moment.

I hope this helps.
Best of luck to you in all of your Inventor pursuits,

(again, weird that this "adjust" is not the default)

It's not weird if you know the reasoning-- Adjust means that every instance in the pattern is individually calculated, which in your case is necessary for proper geometry.  But if you have many hundreds, or even thousands of identical holes perpendicular through a uniform thickness, all this unnecessary calculating will bring the system to its knees.

One could make the argument that the software should be smart enough to recognize which option is likely desired, but in the absence of that, it picks the option with the best performance, I believe.
