Hi everyone,

I'm trying to construct a pyramid using sections made from wood. I've done the frame and I've drawn the wood profile to be extruded. I want each length of the pyramid to have a wooden beam. So, in total there will be 6 wooden parts and I need them to mitre into each other where they intersect in the corners.

I've drawn the wooden profile slightly set inside as the overall size needs to be approx 350mm so when its mitred it'll lose around say 10mm on each end.

How do I do it?

Thanks in advance...

I'm using Inventor 2017

I "simplified" your model, but the dimensions seem to check out.

Hi,

Thanks for doing that but I think you've got the wrong end of the stick.

I can model a pyramid - I just cant produce the six wooden profiles to mitre into each other.

This will give you a better idea of what I'm trying to achieve hopefully...

Here's my long and winding way of doing. Surely it can be done more straightforward (2017 file).

I made some changes into the sketches Wood1 - Wood4

Hi Walter,

That's perfect.

I managed to do it in the end too. I used the frame tool in the assembly file to put a standard square profile on each length - then changed the profiles individually to suit the shape of the wood. Finally mitred each part and it worked.

Cheers!
