Help: Inconsistent style on auxiliary views

Hello all,

I'm setting up new style standards, but I'm having issues getting labels for various auxillary views to behave correctly.

The text styles are set correctly and call through everywhere else, but for some reason all the view identifiers, when called in by Inventor itself as part of a section view, get called in with the default 3.5mm Arial font rather than the style font specified:

(Top is what the section line automatically generated, bottom is what I manually inserted afterwards and behaves as expected based on the style)

I can't seem to find an option anywhere explicitly for the annotation labels or view identifiers inside the style manager, not on the view annotation style, or anywhere else.

Even more baffling, some are calling through fine. Detail views call the correct font, but sections and auxiliary views do not.

Does anyone have any idea where I find the location to fix this? Or am I going insane and it's something I've missed here?

If you look at the object defaults is the View / Scale Label object set to use the text style you want?  I could be wrong, but what you show in the picture is the annotation style and I don't think that has anything to do with the view label, just the text that is used for the view identifier in the parent view.

Hi Andrew, Thanks for the response.

I just double checked, it's set to use the style I want as default.

For clarity: here is a section view showing the issue more clearly.

EdmundHKMKR_1-1759410471370.png

The section label on the left, A-A (Scale) is correct, and matches the style format as expected. The text on the right locating the section line,  A-A, is using the wrong font (Arial, 3.5mm).
Inventor seems to recognise that, from the style, it *should* be the unison pro font -

But If I select the view ID *specifically*, it shows that inventor has added it using the wrong font:

I've checked in the view preferences tab as well and that seems to be using the correct style font too.

Is there some kind of property override for styles? Like is there an option somewhere for inserted properties or similar to use a separate style from the rest of the text?

Ok, I misunderstood.  I thought you were talking about the view label that appears under the new view.  For the view annotation, have you looked at the different view types to make sure they are all set to the correct text style, there are different settings for section, auxiliary and detail views.  Also, what version of Inventor are you using?

Hi Andrew, No problem. I realise now re-reading the initial post it wasn't super insightful as to what I'm trying to describe.

I'm currently on Inventor 2026.1, I believe.
I believe they're all set correct - Every view annotation type for the view style I am using lists the custom centrered text style. That text style is using the correct formatting I want, and when used outside of the annotation callouts works fine. Eg in tables, headers, general notes, etc, it calls through correctly.

On view preferences under the "standard" style, I believe this is all set up correctly as well:

(For the section callout - which works.)

(For the actual view annotation callout, which is the one causing issues.)

Sorry, but I don't have any more ideas.  I'm using 2024 and some of styles editor screenshots you shared look different than what I can see so I cannot play around with these settings.  This could be a bug in the newer version, it could be something is corrupt in the drawing, or it could be a new setting in the new version.

Hi Edmund,

I suspect this is either a corrupted style or a bug. Please share a drawing file that exhibits the behavior. I would like to understand the text style behavior better.

Many thanks!

Hello John,

I was starting to think the same thing.  And thank you - I've PM'd you with the file.

Hi Ed,

Many thanks for sharing the files with me! I believe it is a bug. It should just work. Somehow the font is always set to Arial as opposed to the setting in the Text Style. I need to work with the project team to understand it better.

Thanks again!

Hi John,

That's unfortunate it's a bug, but a relief that at least I hadn't missed something. Thank you for looking into this.
