help in 3d modeling + beginner

Good afternoon everyone,

I would like to help me in my initiation of 3D modeling I have some bases but I do not know some steps that allow me to advance with some types of works. the difficulty I am having at this moment is the modeling of a 737 plane, I intend, for example, to open a notch on one side of the cylinder (central structure) of the plane and then to mount the wings. I leave the file and photo. Thank you very much for your attention.

A plane might not be a very good inaugural project...try the tutorials.

yes maybe not, but for this example is a basic draw, like you can see in the file attached i need to do a cut in the cilinder, to join the wing

Is your Sketch1 fully dimensioned and constrained?  (Yes or No)

Have you gone through the built-in Tutorials? (Yes or No)

Can you ask your instructor to join this discussion?

There is no cylinder in the file that you attached - only a cone.

(See question 1 above.)

I see from this thread 6th months ago that it was suggested to NOT delete dimensions.

I can walk you through your intended design step-by-step, but some basic principles will have to be covered first.

Hello @Anonymous thanks for attaching your parts. I went through and recorded a quick screencast going over a few general things.

I would recommend going through the Learning Path and getting more familiar with sketching practices and solid modeling. It will save you many headaches in the future.

Hi Meneses,

Agree with Kelly, you have to follow learning path one by one since Rome is not built in one day. Smiley Happy

To design a plane is even a longer learning path though for surface modelling skills.

Hope it helps!
