I need some help producing a plat pattern for the 18" x 30" eccentric reducer section only from the attached AutoCAD drawings. The cover is 1" thick so there will be a one-inch offset to the current piping dimensions. Can anyone help? If you need more information please let me know. Thank you.

Hi

Here are instructions on how to create components from a multi-body part file (to create a flat pattern, the plate files must be individual).

https://help.autodesk.com/view/INVNTOR/2025/ENU/?guid=GUID-F2EE11BB-857D-4426-9622-ED8EB54123B5

Inside the part files you will be able to create flat patterns for individual sheets.

An eccentric reducer as drawn will not flatten, because it is not a purely conical form-- some material stretching would be needed to create it from a flat sheet.  It is possible to use a trimmed cone to approximate the form, but the ends will not be perfectly circular.  In actual practice, nobody would notice because sheet metal isn't that exact anyway.

I would create one for you, but I don't know what version of Inventor you're using (always include that information in the first post!).

This segment (eccentric cone) can be added again using Loft flange. The model created in this way can be flattened.

Ciao,

un altro metodo è quello di creare una "lamiera tramoggia" (per imbutitura oppure per pressa piegatrice) ed applicare un taglio di separazione.

In questo modo puoi spianare senza nessun problema la tua lamiera.

Vedi esempi
