in the design tool of inventor, for gear design, there is no option for root fillet radius . so gears becomes sharp at root. Like kissSoft , Inventor need to develop good Gear design tool

That's only a simplified shape

You can get realistic teeth by right-clicking at the spur gears entry and then using Export tooth shape

I'm not sure if your digging far enough into the option. There is a lot of gear tooth controls. Try expanding the dialog box.
