Freeform Geometry as a Cut not an Extrusion

I am making a Mold and I would like to use freeform geometry to create a cut in the mold instead of an extrusion.  Is there a way to cut freeform Geometry?

If you want to subtract a freeform from another solid to create a mold cavity then create a new derived part with both the freeform and mold body in it then use "combine" (with the cut/subtract option) to subtract one from another.
