Framework & skeleton question

Hi guys,

I'm new to Inventor framework. It's a handy tool to help generate framework and works very well.  However as the framework size may change at a later time but the framework skeleton seems not editable. Is there a way to change the framework size? As I have add holes on the framework, I don't want to regenerate it from very beginning.

How did you create your frame skeleton?  Or are you talking about the frame skeleton Inventor creates?   I always create a simple part with 2d sketches showing where my frame members go.   Then I insert that into an assembly and design my frame using those 2d sketches.  If I have to make a change I just edit my simple part and the dimensions associated to my 2d sketches.  When I do an update in the assembly my frame members update.

Need to know the workflow you used for creating the frame.  Frame Generator usually starts with a part file containing one or more 2D or 3D sketches to define the "skelton".  These can be edited, at least you SHOULD be able to edit them, to change dimensions or add/remove lines.

Can you post screen shots, or the assembly itself (use pack n go), or at least give a description of the method and workflow you used?

Looks like you're on the right track now.  In that part you can edit or add sketches as needed to build your frame.  If you want sections of your frame to be sub-assemblies, what I sometimes do is create each section of the frame separately with it's own sketch part, then when I have them all I assemble them with standard constraints, just like you would build it in sections.  That way each part is editable independantly of the others if needed.
