Hi!

In previous versions/updates was possible to select a coil as a reference to place Frame Generator components.
Now is not possible anymore. this would be a permanent situation? a bug? Any thoughts about this?

In the video: i can select the 2D arc to insert frame elements (despite the arc is in the 3D sketch), but i can't select the coil...

Note: i'm not expecting any alternative workflow like sweeps or so... i'm only referring to the Frame generator.

Thank you!

I see that you're using Inventor 24 - while I'm using Inventor 23.3.1, and I can't do this either. In which version do you remember this to be functional?

And we're talking about Helical Curves, not the actual Coil feature, right? 🙂

Hi Carlos,

This workflow never seems to be supported. To select a helical path, you may need to create a new 3D sketch -> Include Geometry -> select the curve. After that, it can be selected to create frame members.

Many thanks!
