Frame Generator and Auto-Exploded View in Presentation File

I'm trying to auto-explode my frame (generated in Frame Generator) in a presentation file and I get the error that there aren't any constraints so it is forcing me to move every frame member by hand...

Surely this issue has been addressed before?

Thanks!

Hi Andrew,

Auto-explode is constraint-driven which means the logic is follow the constraints you've made in assembly. Regard to FG assembly, it is driven by 3D/2D sketch, so the behavior is expected rather than a defect.

Have you upgrade to latest version, the new UI with Tweak command is improved quite a few, hope the new friendly UI can ease your pain.

Thanks

Hi Xun,

I'm on 2016 at home but I have 2018 at work, so I'll fool around with that tomorrow.

If I understand you correctly you're saying that if you make an assembly with FG, because there are no constraints, even in 2018 you can't auto-explode, you have to manually tweak?

Thanks for the quick response!

Hi Andrew,

Auto-explode do meet the limitation due to constraint-based algorithm, so the command was removed from Inventor 2017.
