Flexible Assembly Error - Symmetry, Inconsistent

Inventor Professional 2021

I'm working on an assembly that uses a few nested flexible subassemblies for a hinge. If I try to set flexibility at the top level assembly, I get the following error:

Screenshot 2021-12-03 124009.png

Once I get this error, the 7219-2080-001 is locked in place and does not flex. It doesn't seem to be affected by constraints applied to the subassembly within the top level assembly.

7219-2080-001 is a subassembly that contains the 34600-008 subassembly in order to alter the details of a generic part. The 34600-008 has no issues with flexibility in the 7219-2080-001 subassembly.

I've tried changing which parts are grounded, but the error comes up regardless of the grounded status of each part.

Is it possible I'm nesting too many flexible assemblies? Inventor is not offering any actual suggestions in the error dialog or recovery

could you "pack and go" the files?

There seem to be a symmetry constraint used.

Can you delete that and test again?

Turns out, this was it. I had a symmetry constraint in the 7219-2080-001 subassembly for setting up a work plane I didn't have to use. Removing that fixed the issue.

I hadn't explicitly added the symmetry constraint, so it didn't register in my thought process at all.
