Fix Detail view

hello guys,

I have a model and the corresponding drawing which has lot of detail view, which has the same work procedure like the one below in the screen cast.

I dimension every thing in the detail view when ever the parameter value changes in the model the model drawing also changes at the time there is no relationship between the model and the detail view so the view becomes hide whenever i pull the detail view over the corresponding model the dimension which i placed over vanished. is it possible to put any API or Ilogic to make the detail view constant based on the first one (whenever the model changes the detail view moves to same potion based on the model) or else is it possible to fix the detail view at a particular place through projected sketch.

for a single detail view maybe we can place the dimension for each and every time but for the ones I have is like 9 detail view I have to re dimension it everything it takes more time and the accuracy also changes.

Hi,

First thing you need to do is to attach details to your model.

dimensions are getting lost because detail looses its contents (is showing nothing) and after boundary is repositioned to show something dimensions are already lost.

Second thing is you should look for setting to allow orphanded annotations, than even if something will go out of view dimensions may (but no necessarily will) stay and indicate missing reference.

Tools/Documents Settings/Drawing tab...   I would also apply this option to your templates so its in place for new drawings that you create.
