feature on model does not show on my derived part

Hi All,

I have been drawing a derived part from a model and half way through this drawing we added a feature cut on the model but this only shows as an outline line on my derived part?

I have turned on the dererred updates but i still cant get the derived part to show the cutout feature we have on the model?

Can anyone help?

I have added a screenshot of the U shaped feature which is a cut through ALL in the model but only shows as a outline on my part.

I have also made sure i have derived my part on the correct surface which is drawn into the model.

Many Thanks

Darren

can you post the part?

hard to tell anything from that PDF really..

Was the feature done at the assembly level and maybe not directly editing the ipt file?

Graphics card driver up to date?

I have zipped up both parts and attached for you to have a look at, These were created in inventor 2016

You need to modify Sketch28 that is consumed by Face4.

Project the new U-shaped geometry and then Edit Face4.

Unselect the original profile and reselect your new profile that excludes the U-shaped geometry.

Or...

Create a new sketch, project the U-shaped geometry and then use the Cut command to remove the material.

Just because your derived part updates with new surfaces, it doesn't mean they are automatically part of or your sketch geometry for the feature you make in the new geometry.  I would also look at Multi-body modeling in your Sheet Metal design as that is a new feature of 2016 and it appears to be a road you are taking with this volume master of geometry you have.  Just a thought.
