FEA simulation - Type of Contacts?

Hello everyone,

I'm doing an FEA simulation and I'm confused about the type of Contacts I'm supposed to have.

I haven't been able to find a lot of documentation online that would really explain how each type of contact works.

From what I've read I was able to change my Contacts a little bit. This is how I have established them in general:

    1. All my holes have clearance so they are slightly larger than the fasteners. I have used Separation between the fasteners and the holes.
    2. Since the plier needs to be able to open and close its jaws, parts A, B, C1, C2 and Holder need to be able to slide but I don't want them to separate, so I have used Sliding/ No Separation.
    3. The holder also needs to slide but there's a small distance between it and parts C1 and C2, so I used Separation.
    4. Used Bonded contact between the nuts and the fasteners.
    5. Used Bonded contact between Part B and Top Grip, and Part A and Bottom Grip.

When I ran my simulation a lot of the pieces separated from each other. My bolts didn't stay in place at all, so my VM stresses were really really high, which I don't think is accurate.

I have uploaded my files here:

I would like to mention that I have a separate file that includes threads. I wasn't able to exclude the threads from the study so I created this file without threads to minimize simulation time.

Any guidance or additional information about contacts would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.
