Faster screenshots with transparent background (high-res)

Hello!

We're creating high-res images using presentations in inventor. Because of the size and complexity of our models, this can cause massive slowdowns and delays.

Is there any add-ins that would allow me to take screenshots in the assembly workbench in high resolution with a transparent background? It would save me a LOT of time.

Thanks in advance everyone!

Hi Stephen, using ray tracing in the assembly environment is so much quicker, unfortunately there is no transparent option. You would have to use the colour you need for you final use, or use a specific background colour and try to remove it in Photoshop if you need to overlay it on something.

File > export
offers transparency, but unfortunately it doesn't work with ray tracing.

@Stephen_PotterQW2H6 Inventor really needs to add a transparency option for an image save,  you can just change the color of the background to a bright green and remove it with Photoshop or Affinity Photo, if you don't have those I can help if you want to save the image and post it up. Otherwise, I highly recommend that you learn to render your CAD files outside of Inventor, Blender is free and fairly easy to learn. If you have the Inventor package then you also have 3D Max, and there are great tutorials out there of getting started with 3D max.
