Extruding from Surface

Hey everyone, I'm having some issues while trying to extrude a 2D sketch from a curved surface.

Please, check the images attached below.

I'd like to create carve the curved surface starting from a 2D sketch created on the vertical plane. How can I do that?

I already figured out that what I'm looking for can also be made with the thicken / offset command after projecting the 2D sketch to the surface... but I realised that the feature can't be patterned.

That's why I'm sticking with a regular extrusion from the face.

Ideally this is what I'd like to do:

but somehow I can't pattern that extrusion.

I made a mistake somewhere - but I thought this might give you some ideas...

@JDMather I'm not getting why you have a "surface body".

Anyway, I'm trying from scratch to see if the circular pattern is working this time.

If you are satisfied with an extrusion solution (a single direction, rather than wrapped to the face, as in your thicken solution), then your second image shows exactly what you need to do, except that you didn't click on the Alternate solution button:

Note, though, that the parallel nature of the extrusion tool won't allow the chamfer and fillets that you have added to the carved feature created by the Thicken tool.

Another possible solution, depending on your fabrication method, is a swept solid body, like a machining operation.  Here's a quick and dirty illustration of that technique, in a 2022 format file.
