My inventor was working fine yesterday. I opened it today and it is exremely laggy. Even mouse movement looks like 10fps. everything is lagging but speed is normal/fast. idk what could have caused this. please help.

my system specs:

i7 8750h

gtx 1060

samsung ssd (pm981)

Hi! The behavior sounds more like system related since it was working fine before. Let me ask you a few questions and see if we can sort it out.

1) What Inventor release are you on? Have you applied the latest update?

2) Have you install all critical Windows updates?

3) Is graphics driver up-to-date?

4) Is mouse or 3D connexion device driver up-to-date?

5) How much system RAM do you have? Have you cleaned %temp% folder?

6) Could you describe the workflow leading to the lagging behavior?

7) Did you reboot your machine?

Many thanks!

latest inventor pro 2019 (student licence)

updated nvidia drivers a few days back

generic mouse (no updates)

16gb ram (I have 5+gb free while inventor is open w/chrome open)

cleaned temp yesterday

i started inventor,( mouse movements are fine now). everything works in real time, but low fps.

I have a very basic cube open right now (1in x1inx1in) but it laggs when i rotate or pan, or anything.

I would recommend a reboot as it will clear out the RAM and cache, the typicall IT professional, turn it off and on and everything magically works.

Hi! In Inventor, go to Tools -> Application Options -> Hardware. What is it set to? Does your machine have an integrated graphics card and a dedicated graphics card? Could you make sure Inventor runs on the dedicated graphics card?

Many thanks!
