This only happens in Inventor and only when exporting PDF's. Whenever any of us export a PDF from Inventor to our server's shared drive, we often get an error saying the file is in use.
We have several users that have Read Only access to the folder on the server. As the site admin (Windows Server 2022), I have found that when I go in to "Computer Managment" on the server, it shows the user has the file open but in a read-only state and yet each time other users go to overwrite this file, I have to go in to the server and close that file out.
From my experience this should not happen. At past companies I've worked at we have not had this issue. Just this one. Inventor is the only difference between these companies.
Why is this? Any ideas how to "fix" this?
Thank you!

Hi! I could be wrong but I suspect this has more to do with the user's Windows/Server privilege than Inventor. On Inventor, you may open an Inventor file and then delete it from disc, though it can lead to an error on save. Inventor is not able to overwrite the file, which means the Windows or the PDF reader (Acrobat) blocks other application from accessing the file. Please take a look at the following discussion on Adobe's community.
Many thanks!
I am digging in deeper. It appears that it is a Windows Server issue. No clue why yet but it affects text files too. Not everything though so its a really weird issue. Thanks
