Can you Attach files here that exhibit this behavior?

An Inventor assembly must have parts.

In Inventor - parts in in the format of *.ipt files.

You also have 4 subassemblies.  Of course, the subassemblies are needed to in order to make a diagnosis of the issue.

When I open your Inventor Files and STEP files the Origin and XYZ are identical.

Can you show image of difference that you see?

Hi JD,

The attached video shows the initial assembly showing the relevant origins in their CORRECT positions in the assembly.

When the STEP file is created, if you look at the video, the origins of the 150x100x10 profile move to the assembly origin.

Hi! I don't think this particular workflow is supported. When a non-Master PosRep is active, the position overrides are applied. At that point, file save is not allowed. As a result, export is blocked. Here is a simple workaround. Place the assembly with the non-Master PosRep active in another assembly. Then export the new assembly to STEP.

Many thanks!

Hi,

There is NO positional rep created for any part or in the assembly, so I am unsure what you mean.

Hi Qamar,

I am sorry for multi-threading errors. I was thinking about a different issue. I took a closer look. I can confirm the behavior. The origins in individual parts are not the same as in the source ipt files. This does not seem right to me. I need to work with the project team to understand it better.

Many thanks!

Hi Qamar,

This has been confirmed as a defect (ATF-15539).

Many thanks!
