Export .stl files from inventor for printing at 1:1 scale

I am working with my students to design scale model solar cars.  My students are designing at a 1:1 scale, but when we export them for 3-D printing, they come out extremely small.  I have tried all sorts of things to make this work to no avail.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Did you click Options when Saving/Exporting and set to the current document units?

Can you Attach an example *.ipt file here?

Why did you Reply to another thread rather than this thread?

As shown above you should access the "options" button next to the save button and select the units that your printer/slicer software is expecting the part to be in..

I always model in "inches" in Inventor but my printer expects millimeters so I select that in the dialog box shown above..

I have had different experience than what you describe.

Now I always request the file.

ok.. not sure what that means...

My experience has shown that this question is usually because people are not aware of needing to set the units in the options before saving.. I have never had a problem so long as the options is set to the units my printer is expecting..

If after seeing the replies we have posted so far there is still an issue then sure having the file to verify that their statement of modeling 1:1 is true or not.. I start out with a bit of faith and adjust from there if needed..
