Expand All browser command

I am using a version of 2012 Auto Desk Inventor. I am dealing with very large assemblies and i constantly, accidental click expand all when going for collapse all. Is there a way to deactivate the expand all button or grey it out from use? Currently if i click expand all it either crashes my session or takes 10min to expand everything.

Welcome to the community!

I don't know of a way to deactivate that, but maybe you can work around it by not using a mouseclick to select the function.

I'm assuming you right-click the top node in the browser and then click "collapse all children"?
You may notice there's an underscore under the S of collapse, which indicates a shortcut.
So if you right-click and then press S on your keyboard you can circumvent clicking on the wrong function.

Would that work?

Hi! For Inventor 2012, you probably need to use Level of Detail (LOD) to manage large assembly. Is this a 32-bit machine or 64-bit machine? Do you have to have all components loaded every time? Could you open the assembly with all components suppressed (Open -> Options -> LOD = All Comp Suppressed)? Then unsuppress the components you need to edit. Would it work better?

Many thanks!
