Excel formatting lost when imported to general table

I have a lists of numbers in civil stations format (** + **.**) in Excel. When importing into a general table, the list reverts to raw numbers, and I cannot find a way to maintain the original Excel formatting. I noticed this also happens in more common formatting as well, such as scientific notation. Is there a workaround within Inventor?

The general table column doesn't support this format. You can force the data in excel to be text with a formula. Something like "=TEXT(A3;"0.00E+00")". Now the format will be shown correct in Inventor, because it's text.

An other alternative would be inserting your excel as object in your drawing. (use a document and make sure the link option is enabled):

The donwside of this methode is the display of the text, you can't really control it.

good ideas!
Its probably easier to Format them as text using this: '

so '123 = 123 (as text)

The =Text() function is working perfectly, thank you!

We can't use the '123 in Excel since all of the data is dynamic and would risk us missing one line when a value updates.
