I have a double gate system with user parameters for setting the up and down positions. I have attempted to use Model State for a simple change.

My issue is when ever I change the angle of the gates any amount I get the following error:

I hit accept and the model doesn't update. If I click and drag on ANY part in the assembly then it pops right into the correct angle with zero errors.

See below images for a visual time line.

Down Position:

Double click on Up Model State:

Click on Accept:

Drag on ANY part (even grounded part):

and now everything is ok.

It doesn't seem to matter what angle I use for the up the same thing happens. I can drive each of the constraints without any errors.

If anyone has an idea of how to fix this I would really appreciate it.

Only blind guess without the model.

Can you drag and move the gate with Angle constrain suppressed?

Probably over constrained.

Sometime you need to constrain differently.

Yes they move freely when constraints are suppressed.

Hi Dustin,

I guess when you activate the specific iAssembly member, the geometry participating in those constraints is gone. This is a limitation in iAssembly workflow. You may want to use iMate to constrain the components instead. Please feel free to share the files in zip here. The forum experts can help take a look.

Many thanks!
