I got 'error loading segment'  message whenever I try to open this file, which last saved yesterday.

Few error pop up

'error loading segment PmAppSegment from database'

'error loading segment DIDirectorySegment in database'

What's wrong actually?

Welcome to the Autodesk User's Community..

Most likely this is related to a corrupt file.   When you say this file..   What type of Inventor file is it?   Assembly, part, drawing, presentation?    Have you looked in your old version folder where this file resides and see if the last saved version was still good.

Hi! The file is corrupted. Please go to \OldVersions\ folder in the same level and find the last saved version. Rename the file (strip off the version number) so that it becomes a regular Inventor file.

Please help me answer the following questions.

1) Are you able to reproduce it?

2) What was the last operation you did?

3) How do you store the file? On local drive? On shared network drive? Or cloud drive? Do you use an EDM system like Vault?

4) Do you have encryption tool running?

5) Does anybody else have access to the file?

Many thanks!

Hi, I did that, unfortunately the old version is corrupted too. I have make a copied into external hard disk every end of the week, thus, I used that copied and have to re-do the parts I have added in after last copied.  answering your questions;

1) Are you able to reproduce it? NO

2) What was the last operation you did? EDITING A DWG FILE AND IT STOP RESPONDING.

3) How do you store the file? On local drive? On shared network drive? Or cloud drive? Do you use an EDM system like Vault? ON LOCAL DRIVE. NOT USING VAULT. I AM THE SINGLE USER.

4) Do you have encryption tool running? NOT SURE

5) Does anybody else have access to the file? NO

Hi! Many thanks for sharing the info! Based on my experience, one possibility is that the \Design Data\ folder is not properly migrated. Do you know if the drawing styles have been migrated?
