End Cap doesn't work in an angle frame?

Evening all,

I am having a box section that in the very top I want to end with 45 degrees angle. So I have my 100x100 box section created by frame generator and I used a extrude cut @ 45. Then I tried to use End cap command to close it but it looks that it doesn't work(attached cut-cap).  So then I have tried to cut the frame using the trim/extend with a 45 degree plane (I know that needs a face) (attached trim-extend to plane) even thought in preview you can see the cut when you apply it doesn't actually do anything(attached trim-extend to plane 2). Is End cap suppose to work in angles at all? Any other suggestions that I can try or I need to create a cap part?

Cheers

Y.

I believe (but I could be wrong) it only works on 90 deg faces because it uses the straight/90 deg face information to generate the required end cap.

Hi Ioannis,

End Caps should work with the trimmed frames by angle e.g. 45 degree

End Cap - 45 deg.png

Thank you both for you answers.

@Roman_Vesely  the difference is that I only have 1  frame and not two. You are having two and you used trim/extend to create the angle. Apparently you can use end caps on a frame that is been cut with trim/extend command, but not with extrude cut like my post is describing. I used your post though and i worked a bit different.

I create a part which is just a  surface, I've placed it in my assembly, I did trim/extend using that surface and then end caps works.

Thanks

Hi Ioannis,

yes, End Caps can work with FG members modified by FG End Treatments or you can directly open the FG member and do extrude cut there (in this case you need to use Rebuild all once you will edit definition of this extrude cut).
