Hi All

Inventor 2018

In the attached file. I was trying to edit ss500 part in context. But "edit part" option appears inactive. It is active for other parts. Can someone explain why this happens?

1. You iProperties indicates 2019, not 2018.

2. Post screen shot - this almost always indicates that you already have the part open in another window. (Your file works as expected on my machine.)  Screencast would be best.

3. Why is your assembly a Mold Design?

I think I would have done this with Frame Generator.

Hi!  I guess you are attempting to edit 2019 file in 2018. Inventor does not allow users to open files saved in newer releases in older releases. But, you could reference iam and ipt files saved in 2019 in 2018 for example (Future CAD workflows). I guess that is what you did. When you reference 2019 assembly in 2018, it is like read-only. You cannot alter the geometry. It is for reference only.

Many thanks!

Sorry guys

I have got INV 2019 in my lap top. That from where i uploaded the model. I typed as "INV 2018" by mistake. So, there is something other than you suspect

The part was open in another window. When i close that one and try to edit the part in context it works. The inactive "edit part" option turns active.

Thanks
