editing family tables in custom content centre

hi all

I'm trying to create a family table in content centre that shall have approx. 25k rows,

editing this in excel is a real pain... to avoid doing so, I would need some excel functionality in respect of assigning part numbers / filenames.

In excel you have the ability of typing in a number in a cell... ie '1', then in the next row down, '2', then next row down '3' etc. I can then highlight those cells in the column, and drag down to the end of my list and the spreadsheet will continue the numbering format,,, ie, 4, 5, 6, etc etc ..

can family tables do the same to avoid me going into excel?

There are column formulas in content center, but those formulas take information from one column or more columns and strings them together.    It will not auto-number like it can in Microsoft Excel.   Remember content center was developed many many releases ago without the interaction with Excel.  Excel modification was added at some point but the interface for CC hasn't changed over the years.
