Edit (Sketch) Symbol doesn't have access to Libraries

The dialogue for "Insert Sketch Symbol" has selection tree with access to "Local" (symbols in current file) and to Symbol Libraries.

The dialogue for "Edit Symbol" (via RMB menu or double-clicking on an existing symbol) only has access to the Local symbols.

Is there a way to give the Edit menu access to Symbol Libraries? I'd like to move our symbols from our existing drawing template to a symbol library file on the network. But without the ability to access the Symbol Libraries from an existing drawing, updating to newer symbols is going to be a real pain. Basically the same as we do now which is open a new drawing and copy the symbols over from that to the existing drawing we'd like to update.

Seems like an oversight that both the Insert Symbol and Edit Symbol dialogues don't both have the same functionality in regards to what symbols they can use.

Hi! You could use Drawing Resource Transfer Wizard to copy the sketch symbols from one drawing to selected drawings.

Many thanks!

I looked into that. Seems like a lot of work for what it does. Needing to close out of Inventor is a pain. And really what I was trying to get away from was having every symbol (old and new) in the drawing. I'll probably end up writing a script to copy the new symbols into old drawings. Thank you for the suggestion though!
