Edit Sheet Metal Styles

Hello,

I know this is a basic question but...I am trying to set up a style that only shows the sheet metal sizes we use.

I think I have an idea of how to it but want to make sure...

If any one know of a YouTube video or has step by step instructions I would appreciate it.

Are you trying to show a different font/color/size for each sheet metal thickness?

What are you trying to control with the style?

Is this in the drawing or part environment?

If you are trying to make a list of available sheet metal thicknesses that can be done in the Sheet Metal Defaults.

If you can supply a bit more information on what you are trying to accomplish that would be helpful.

What Im trying to do is have the sheet metal material match the material and set thickness

Hi! I could be misunderstanding the issue. You should be able to change the material style in the Sheet Metal Rule style. If you cannot figure out, please feel free to attach the file here.

I created a style for 12ga 304 SS. The material and thickness are all good.

What I would like is when the material is selected from out material list it would assign the material to the rule...

I am sure I am doing something in the wrong order or just something simple..

Or is it a ilogic rule that I need to add

Hi! I see the issue now. Actually, for sheet metal parts, you use Sheet Metal Rules to drive Material and Thickness. If you change Material from Physical Properties tab or use Material Browser, it is like overriding the active Sheet Metal Rule. You need to set up more Sheet Metal Rules to accommodate different Materials. It does not work the other way around unfortunately.

Hello,

Yes, of course you can do like this either from material browser or property physical panel, the material is the first class to participate in the computing pipeline without override the material from current active sheetmetal rule, in other words, the part is actually applied the material from property physical panel or material browser without changing the material which committed in the rule. 

In addition, the material will be listed in the BOM as well.
