This is an issue that I have never seen before, and I am sure it is a simple fix (hopefully). Basically, when sketching say a circle, usually the dimension box comes up before I confirm the size and allows me to define the dimension (as I am sure everyone does). Now, that box does not show up anymore and instead, the triad is displayed. Any ideas as to why this randomly has happened? It happens on any new part and even after re-booting. I think I may have hit a hotkey at some point on accident and toggled a setting.

I attached a part if anyone wants to open it. Very basic and only for the purpose of seeing if my settings are linked to that part file.

Hi! I believe the dimension input box is probably shown in a different display. Please make sure the followings happen.

1) Install all critical Windows updates and the latest graphics driver.

2) Go to Windows Display settings and select the recommended resolution and scale.

3) Right-click on Inventor desktop icon -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Change High DPI settings -> check both boxes.

4) If you are using dual monitors, please make the one hosting Inventor the primary display.

Many thanks!

What you're showing is the Precise Input dialog.  To get rid of it, click on the Menu button and select Close (see below).

You somehow started Precise Input, accidentally I assume.  I remember using it back in version 5.3 (2002) as a complete newbie, and after just a little bit of training I never saw it again (until now)!

Sorry to hijack a post, but I'm having the same problem, but the menu with the close option does not open. Any ideas?

Hi! This could be related to the display settings. Go to Windows Display settings and select the recommended resolution and scale. Right-click on Inventor desktop icon -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Change High DPI settings -> check both boxes.

If you are using dual monitors, please set the one hosting Inventor as the primary display. If nothing works, I will need to show you an environment variable to disable panel scaling.

Many thanks!
