Has anyone experienced when changing a layer or line type in ACAD the dwg underlay loses its association and must be re-projected?

In cased I missed a step:
My projected geometry remains intact.
Inventor 2025.2
If I missed a step, let me know?
I did forget to mention it was a block in acad. If I edit the block in place, then change line type, and save the block, then update the ipt, it will loose the link. I am on 2024.3.2
I wonder if the block has something to do with it, as usually for what we do, I explode the blocks...But I have been too tied up to test it
When I get a chance, I will have to investigate a little more.
Oh, in that case, yes. It breaks.
If the AutoCAD object type (line, arc, pline, block) remains constant, then the projected geometry survives changes. Change the object type and it fails. If you change something within a block (like layer) then that also breaks the link. So apart from all the exceptions, projected DWG geometry survives really well! ![]()
Yea, I guess typically the geometry has been exploded since I am stripping info out of massive sent bound GA drawings. So, I guess I just forgot to explode and stumbled upon it. Thanks for verifying my assumption.
