Dual core Vs Quad Core

Can anyone tell me, whether the Autodesk Inventor 2016 will run on a dual core or does it have to be quad core?

Thanks for your help, I have never used this before I do not know what I am doing, I was just hoping to speak to someone from autodesk to get a quick answer on whether the Autodesk Inventor 2016 will run on Dual core or whether it will run only run on quad before I go out to buy a laptop. I'm running Inventor 2016 on a dual core at home (for now) ...and I'm running a Xeon Quad core at work, I7 Quad core..without any issues. I've performed work on large assemblies as well as rendering in Inventor Studio.  I have faster times with the Xeon and I7 ...

Thank you very much for your help. Could I ask a couple of other questions just to check that I will be okay.
To explain I am a teacher and we use inventor 2016 in school, however I have to check the pupils work and will have to do this at home. Inventor 2016 will not run on the computer I have in the house so I am going to have to buy a laptop to run the the package. Can I ask what processor you computer in the house has that allows you to run inventor 2016.

Let me ask this .... are they large assemblies ( I'm doubting they are since it's for school)

However here are the requirements for 2016

You want at least 8 gig's .... a lot of home pc's are 16 now. 

You could get away with a I5 but have it in the 3GHZ' to make it work properly.

Graphics card ...2 gig's

Just about any laptop you buy now will run Inventor...

Don't expect blazing speeds at all though with the cheaper ones..

I'd shoot for a minimum Intel i5 series processor.. i7 would be better but clock speed is more important that processor series..

Get the fastest processor you can get..

Then RAM.. get as much as you can get..

After that look for one with a dedicated graphics card..

For reference I'm able to run Inventor on a $299 HP laptop.. (don't remember the specs)..

It works but my work computer (specs below) will blow the doors off the laptop..

Don't worry about quad vs dual.. Frankly I'm surprised they even have dual cores available still..

Thank you very much for your reply, The projects that the pupils are doing are not particularly large, and on the whole are actually quite small.
I am now away to try and find a laptop at a good price.

I got an Asus I7, 12 gig ... Geforce Card 

I don't use large file really on my personal laptop and paid $899.00 . It's more for helping here and there on the forums...and misc' activities.

Just about any machine will run Inventor-- my home computer is an i3 dual-core 3.3 GHz, no problems with home-size files.  Graphics might be a problem, though-- seems to me that some users have trouble with Intel on-board GPUs.  Be sure your screen resolution is high enough to be useful, or that your computer can drive an external monitor with decent resolution (1080 or higher).
