Drawing features (fill/hatch) offset upon exiting sketch

Hello there,

I'm having an issue with a drawing that I vaguely recall having had months ago, perhaps, though I do not remember the solution and searching AD Forums and Google hasn't helped.

I have done this many times with no issue, even on other sheets in this same drawing file:  In a sketch, which is tied to a drawing view, I draw a circle and fill it in using the Fill/Hatch Region too.  All seems fine until I exit the sketch, when the sketch itself jumps to the left a few thou, leaving the filled circle behind.  Interestingly, this also has an effect on things not part of the sketch--most problematically the leader text is left behind too, but also the model in the drawing view.

This is Autodesk Inventor Professional 2015, fyi... not sure what more info y'all need!

Service Pack number and a file attached here that exhibits this behavior might help.

JDM,

Thanks for the prompt response.  I'm not sure if this is the service pack # or not... but I have two lines as follows:

Autodesk Inventor Professional 2015 SP2 [19.2.22300.0000]

Autodesk Inventor Professional 2015 SP1 [12.1.20300.0000]

As for posting a file... I couldn't recreate the problem if I tried, and the drawing has proprietary information.  Could you walk me through what you might be looking for yourself?

Thanks!

EDIT:  I went ahead and saved the problematic page as a new drawing and deleted out most of the info that would get me into trouble 😉 I left enough for you to experiment with, I hope.  You don't need the 3D model files too, do you?

This is a strange one.

If I create a new sketch in the same view - it works fine.

But in your existing sketch I can reproduce the behavior.

Hi Guys,

This has something to do with the projected geometry in the drawing sketch. It seems that the position of those projected geometry would move after finish sketch. It seems that the position understood by the sketch is different than the actual view geometry.

If I delete all the project constraints, the offset would not happen.

Many thanks!
