Drafting and Design QA Manual

I have been asked to put together a QA/QC manual for our Drafting and Design department (which ironically is just me). I have been scratching my head as to how to format this document as our company is involved in developing prototype equipment and the checklist for any given drawing could be huge. For example, my QC check on a simple pipe weldment would be far different from a machined rotating shaft assembly.

Does anyone have links to a sample document that I could review?

I would have started with the national drafting standard.  For example - in Australia it is AS1100. Then there are some additional specific standard related to Mechanical drafting, weldment, piping, etc. Look up the ones which pertain to your industry.

Cheers,

Igor.

I agree with IgorMir, we have a QA manual approved to ISO9001 & for design it basically describes the workflow i.e., who can request a new design, who approves it etc. This then references national standards (BS8888 in our case) & also references other relevant procedures like drawing changes.
