Docked iLogic Panel on Home Screen - Inventor 2023

Good afternoon everyone,

I had updated to Inventor 2023 this morning and the home page looked a bit different (not a huge deal). When I have a file open in inventor I have the iLogic panel docked to the lower section of the left hand side of the screen. Which is fine for when a file is open, however when i'm on the "home" tab, the iLogic panel takes up the entire left hand side, pushing the Inventor 2023 project selection and recent files further to the right.

Does anyone know if there's a way to not have the iLogic panel acting in this way? I can't remember if it was just the layout of the home tab in 2022 where it didn't bother me or if this was acting differently because of the update.

I've attached a screen shot of the home screen on the left and the open file on the right.

Hi @Scottyos

In Inventor 2022, the model browser was always visible when "Home" was active. As a result, the iLogic browser was shown along with the model browser and it didn't seem that intrusive.

In Inventor 2023, we fixed Home to no longer show model browser as it was occupying unnecessary real estate. However, we were unable to suppress some addin browser windows e.g. iLogic browser for 2023 RTM due to some issues related to how the browser panes were being managed. So, instead of seeing the model browser you are seeing the iLogic browser. It's unfortunate and we apologize for the inconvenience.

The good news is we have fixed it internally and we will release it with the next update.

Thanks

I appreciate the response. It wasn't a huge deal, I was just thinking if there was a way to free up that space I'd go about it that way! Interesting to hear the background on things though!

Hi @Scottyos

I think the only other way to free up that space is to undock it and keep it floating! 🙂

Thanks
