Dimensions not picking up centre lines

I am currently trying to do a drawing. The part has been derived from another part however, once I place centerlines in and try and dimension to them it doesn't work.

Its coming up almost as though the part is not straight (see screenshot attached). It doesn't even work if you put a sketch of a centerline in and take it off of this.

Can anyone help?!

Thanks

Please zip and post the drawing and parts.  Very hard to give any useful answer otherwise.

What version of Inventor did you say you're using?

Hi! If I recalled correctly, I might have seen similar behavior before. It is probably due to the fact that the part or the section are not orthogonal to origin planes. Right-click on the view -> General dimension type. Is it "Projected" or "True"? If it is "Projected", please share the files. If it is "True", it would be as designed because there is no center line based on the given view direction.

Many thanks!

Please try using the chain dimension. Worked for me. All the best. Caio 🙂
