Dimensioning to extension lines

Hi all,

I'm having trouble creating a dimension that comes from two extension lines. basically, it's a dimension that would be available if the radii weren't present, see picture below:-

Does anyone know how to create the extension lines and apply the correct vertical dimension?

Any help would be much appreciated.

You need the dimension to the virtual sharp of the apparent intersection.

Start the dimension command

click the first line, then right mouse button and select Intersection, click the line that would intersect at the virtual sharp.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I'd tried this earlier and this is all I can get:-

I can get the intersection from the first side but I can't get the same options to select the other side.

Any ideas?

Of course you have to do the same thing on the other side.

It does take some practice to the the correct order of selection down.

I was going to make a video - but I thought you would figure it out.

What if "Intersection" doesn't show up as one of my right-click options?

Then I would suspect that you're trying to dimension a part sketch rather than a drawing view.  The intersection technique shown above is for drawings, not part sketches.  Place a point and make it coincident to each of the two intersecting entities, then dimension to the point.
