Dimension to drill point

Is way to dimension to the drill point with hole notes?

Our QA Mgr is giving me fits about this.  I'm not even sure what the standard calls for.  Can someone refer me to a spec about this?

Thx...

Chris

ASME Y14.5 Section 1.8.10

Basically states and illustrates that you do not dimension to the tip.. Only the full diameter depth of the feature

In general the drill tip is an artifact of the tool and not dimensioned to.

If breakthrough or the tip depth is critical then you should include a note or cross sectional view showing that.

ISO 15786:2008 Section 5.2

Symbol No.8: "Y" symbol equals "Dimension indicated up to bit"

Example from ISO states that this can be Indicated as follows: Ø10 x 28Y

To be able to use Hole/thread notes for Simplified representation and dimensioning of holes also with this solution it should also be added in the dialogbox for this.
