Dimension Style

In IDW file I can drag and place the dimension on left side or right side. How to place the dimension at center as in the assignment?

In the dimension styles. You can set up how you want them ... all outside, all inside, under the line over the line ...vertical, horizontal ...

However if the dim is larger than the area inside, it'll shift to the outside.

I would try to improve upon the original.

But there is nothing wrong with your placement of the .375 dimension.

(Note change in center marks.  Cylinders are dimensioned in rectangular view (when possible)).

In my class this would be counted off as not being aesthetically pleasing.

We would have never done something like this on the drawing board in the last century - I can't understand why someone using CAD would accept something so "ugly".

Hi,

You can make more space for dimension value between extension lines by putting arrowheads outside.

How did you select the small centre marks?

To get your Dimension style. I selected Dimension Type “Diameter” and edited it to get the style similar to yours.

Is this way?

You can see in Inventor Help file center mark is with gap it is not coming in my Inventor.

Except that you have modeled to the wrong dimension.

Only overshoot(C) is coming. Gap(B) and Mark(A) is not coming. One more try is left that is rebooting the computer.

Why have you set the gap soooooooooooooo teeny tiny?

.010 is the thickness of two and a half sheets of paper.

You have set the Overshoot wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy too big.

How big is the hole?

You set the Overshoot bigger than the actual hole?

What scale is the view?

Perhaps you should lay this out with logic on a sheet of paper before going to CAD?

Do you have a set of calipers (every engineer/designer should)?

For the trial changes must be noticeable. That is why big. Before I set bigger Gap then I made it small.
