What standard does your company use?

ISO?

ANSI/ASME?

Other?

No recognized standard?

Do you have experience using the Styles and Standards Editor?

We follow ISO standards generally, but for the dimensioning they don't have any specific layout, I have free reign to do as I please. This is just one of those times where my reporting manager has a personal preference for circular dimensions.

Can you attach a *.ipt file and corresponding *.idw or *.dwg file for testing?

It can be a simple rectangular plate with a hole as shown in your hand sketch.

Hi Henry,

By default, the circular dimension is radial. You can right-click on it -> Dimension Type -> Diameter before you commit it.

Many thanks!

Hi

Here are the steps to duplicate your dimension style, however I was not able to change the default, perhaps someone can change it, If not, you will have to use some iLogic to speed up the process.

Edit the Dimension style and make the changes as shown in the images.

  • Hide the diameter symbol
  • Change the leader style

You will have to manually add the dimension symbol to the dimension text, this where iLogic might help you.

I am not aware of this being in any standard, so you might struggle with this one.

I am just curious - in which country the diameter symbol is placed behind the dimensional value as a standard?

@IgorMir apologies that is my fault. I made a mistake with the diamter symbol placement!

Thank you for pointing that out.
