Deselect part from Break Out Section participation

Anonymous
Not applicable

I want to remove a part from participating in a Break Out in a drawing view. Depth is set to Through All. I don't want to set participation to none, that doesn't always work either.

If I edit the Break Out and ctrl+click the part so its deselected and click OK, nothing happens. When I edit the Break Out again the part is still selected.

Any ideas?

Hello.

See quick test in screencast - I think it works as expected. Or are you trying to do something else?

Hi,

My suggestion.

First in Breakout dialogbox select Section All Parts and give ok to section all parts.

Then change the selection priority to part priority selection and then select the parts, right click and give section to none.

In the browser double click the breakout view and in the dialogbox deselect Section All Parts.

Please check.

@SašoPrijatelj I'm doing a Through All sectioning where you select which parts are going to be sectioned from the Break Out dialog box.

@Anonymous That works for some of the parts but not the fasteners. Another problem with that approach is that I have a lot of fasteners in the break out which I then have to change the Section Participation on from None to Section. I can't select all the fasteners and apply the setting because the Section Participation fly-out then gets grayed out.

I have two fasteners which I accidentally included in the selection from the Break Out dialog. The quickest way would be to edit the Break Out and deselect the two fasteners with the selector from the Break Out dialog, but the deselection does not apply when I hit OK.

This is what I'm doing:

1. Section Participation for left fasteners and right (hidden) fasteners are both set to None.

2a. Removed Section All Parts so I can see the parts I want to deselect.

2b. Deselected the nut and washer

3. Hit OK and edited the Break Out again, the selection is still applied to all fasteners on the right. Expected result is that the nut and washer would be deselected as in pic.2.

Hello,

There are many areas where you can set "Section Participation" as shown in my Screencast.

I usually change the option in "Application Options", so I know the default setting.

If you "Obey the Browser", you can get unpredictable results and difficult to know what has been set.

Jon.
