Delete sheet metal rule

I am trying to delete a sheet metal rule in my sheet metal template but I cannot seem to do that...

I have deleted the rule from my styles library.

I cannot se it is used in any setups on my file.

I only want one rule to be avaliable. This file is a copy of the one I want to delete.

I have been able to rename the one I want to delete, but not delete...

Any ideas, anyone?

Hi

I am not allowed to share the actual file due to company rules...

Is there no way I can do this... e.g. by ilogic, etc...?

(maybe I can clean a file and set it up again afterwards)

HI!

To change styles stuff, you have to go to your PROJECT MANAGER and set the styles to "READ/WRITE". By default it must be " READ ONLY", so you have to change it, or your modifications in the styles manager don't have effect, and when you save it as a template will always be like the original.

I'm trying ..it's tied to something ..just not sure what, but I'm looking. I won't purge or anything.

*I have it in a read-write status*

I'm about to export your default ID style and import it into a new one, and make that the Sheetmetal template for you.

unfortunately no .. something is tied to it and I can't seem to find it. I worked on it driving back from Raleigh yesterday.

I tried it in 2016 and 2017 Inventor ..

In the end, I would end up making a new sheetmetal.ipt and import in the Sheetmetal style into the new one...

It probably would have been quicker than the time we've spent on it ...

Thank you for helping me to figure this outSmiley Happy

But I do not quite understand... I have just started with this template "out of the box" from Autodesk Inventor and is just now setting it up as my new template. Have I done something to the template that makes it not possible to delete the sheet metal rule? should I take a new autodesk sheet metal template and try again, or is it not possible to have only my custom rule in the template? And if I should try again how should I proceed?

Best regards

I would get a copy of the template again that came in with the install.

I keep a 2nd/backup set of the default templates stored on the network, in case I need to fix anything, or one goes corrupt etc...

I would go into the template you have now, and export the style you want to keep, and import it into the new ... and you should be all set.   I really can't say why it won't purge/delete. Maybe Autodesk can answer that.
