Define joint command origin connection point for part

Hi

Is it possible to manipulate part files to create these green points/joint origin connection points when joining two parts together in an assembly.

For example I have this imported fuse blade which I'd like to joint to a mating component and I'd like to the joint command pick the center point of the fuse blade (picture).

Hi

Please try RMB -> Between two faces.

But as a rule, Joints are based on programmed, predefined points. If these don't meet your expectations, you should use Constraints.

It's all about the geometry.

You can get the centre

But as soon as you add the wings, you can't

Even adding a workpoint doesn't work.

If you add a boundary patch over the hole, it works.

Then hide the boundary patch

It's not very good, but it works and won't affect the weight of the part

You could offset the origin when picking that point, use the middle of one of the closer edges then offset it half the distance between the inside edges.
